Kristi Zea, a film látványtervezője a werkfilmben elmondta, hogy neki és Colleen Atwood jelmeztervező számára "érdekes dilemma" volt maszkot választani Hannibal Lecter karakterének, és azt is elárulta, hogy eleinte vívómaszkban gondolkodtak.
