The opinion frequently occurring even nowadays, that allergies are ridiculous diseases, in the same category as the viral flu, must be cleared up. Up until now, the question why allergies have become the most dynamically expanding disease group of the last decades lies unresolved. Genetics, socio-economical and external environment, housing conditions, the size of families, the vulnerable, success oriented, and as a result of this, frequently frustrated psyche, the availability of medical services and many other factors probably play a role in it - but the exact answer is not known. A single correct answer probably doesn't exist at all. The fast increase in the number of patients with allergies is not characteristic for the whole world, but mainly for industrially developed societies with high energy consumption, in which only a few people make their living from agriculture; most of them working in the service industries. Optimal, allergy-avoiding conditions must be provided to our children, from their conception until adulthood, and an environment- and health conscious way of thinking must be developed in them.
