He obtained a post-graduate degree in veterinarian sciences in 1989. From 2001 he has been head of department and university professor at the Veterinary Faculty of Szent István University (SZIE).
Following 25 years of university, graduate and post-graduate teaching experience he developed internationally acknowledged educational programmes, CDs and videos renewing the teaching of veterinary anatomy.
His main fields of research are neurobiology - the role of mitochondrial proteins in neurodegeneration, the analysis of the movement of foals in relation to the development of motive brain circuit evolutionism - normal and pathologic development of the heart of dogs; and macroscopic anatomy - the surgical anatomy of dogs and horses as well as the use of modern image creation tools (CT and MRI) in veterinary anatomy and the study of archaeological bone finds of domestic animals.
He has developed important domestic and international scientific co-operation.
Amongst his numerous state awards, he has been named best teacher 44 times by his students, and he was selected as Teacher of the Year in Hungary in 1999.
