Obstetrician - gynaecologist

From 1990 he has been head of department and university professor as well as director of the Obstetric and Gynaecological Clinic No. 1 of Semmelweis University of Medicine, general deputy rector of the university and president of the Professional Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. His main fields of work and research are obstetrics, gynaecology, prenatal medicine, clinical genetics and gynaecological oncology. He plays a leading role in Hungarian obstetric, gynaecological and scientific life as a member of the Judicial Committee of the Scientific Healthcare Council and president of the Professional Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He is also the leader of the National Coordinating Institute of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the general deputy rector of Semmelweis University, the president of the Scientific and Research Ethics Committee of the Scientific Healthcare Council, and a consultative member of the Medical Department of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA). Additionally, he is a member of the presidency of several domestic and international scientific organisations, and works on the board of editors of a number of domestic and international journals. He has written wrote more than 20 books and several hundred bulletins.
