He was born in 1965 in Zalaegerszeg. After completing Zrínyi Miklós Secondary School he obtained his degree in auto engineering at the Technical University of Budapest (BME) in 1989. He began his professional career with an MTA TMB scholarship at the Motor Vehicle Department of BM, where he obtained his candidate's degree in technical sciences in 1993 with his dissertation, "Planning of Controlled Suspensions". He has worked in various universities and research institutes abroad. In 1994 he was appointed as head of department at the Motor Vehicle Department of BME: In 1998 he became a Doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) with his work, "Motion Dynamics Control Systems". His main fields are vehicle dynamics in general and the planning and research of controlled vehicle systems. He has a number of patents. He obtained the Széchenyi prize in 2001 for the development of the motion dynamics control system of utility vehicles. In addition to his scientific research work, he has been the director of the Hungarian Development Institute of Knorr Bremse since 1995 and pre-development director of the entire group since 2004.
