Az Everton hazai pályán 3-1-re legyőzte a Crystal Palace csapatát az angol labdarúgó-bajnokság 26. fordulójának szombat délutáni nyitómérkőzésén.

Az Everton a 18. percben szerzett vezetést, Theo Walcott – aki nem sokkal később meg is sérült – gyönyörű beadása után Bernard volt eredményes. A Crystal Palace Christian Benteke egyenlített – a támadó a PL-ben legutóbb 2019 áprilisában volt eredményes –, igaz ehhez kellett Jordan Pickford nagy hibája is.

Hét perccel később Richarlison révén ismét a hazai csapatnál volt az előny, majd a 88. percben Dominic Calvert-Lewin zárta le a mérkőzést.

A liverpooli csapat már öt forduló óta veretlen, a londoniaknak viszont ez volt sorozatban a hetedik nyeretlen meccsük a Premier League-ben.

A szombati nap másik PL-meccsén a Brighton és a Watford 1-1-es döntetlent játszott.
